About Us
Jack Neary, Lee Grande and Phyllis George worked together for fifteen years as Director, Musical Director and Choreographer of award-winning high school musicals in eastern Massachusetts. In 2012, they brought bring their talent and enthusiasm to the University of Massachusetts in Lowell as co-founders of the Greater Lowell Music Theatre. GLMT's mission is to convene established and emerging musical theatre artists together to bring to the stage shining examples of what is a truly American art form. As an inaugural effort in 2012, GLMT staged Meredith Willson's classic piece of musical Americana, THE MUSIC MAN at UMass, Lowell. In March 0f 2013, they produced THE MELODY CAVALCADE. GLMT recently engaged Donna White as its first Managing Director, and in July of 2013, they'll present Frank Loesser's GUYS AND DOLLS in Durgin Hall at UMass.
GLMT features some of the most prominent vocalists in New England, including acclaimed soprano Mara Bonde.
